Silver cookie bucket

Cut crystal cookie bucket with silver mount (Minerve hallmark) - Baccarat, late XIXᵉ / early XXᵉ period.
Magnificent cut-crystal cookie bucket, attributed to the famous Baccarat crystal works. Although unsigned, which is common for antique pieces that have lost their original labels, the quality of the crystal, the finesse of the decorations and the characteristic shape leave no doubt as to its attribution.
The body is made of thick, well-balanced clear crystal, decorated with a star-cut motif and crossed facets, ensuring superb light and brilliance effects. The crystal's limpid transparency and the precision of the cuts bear witness to Baccarat's mastery of craftsmanship during this period.
The setting is in solid silver, hallmarked Minerve 1er titre (950/1000), guaranteeing the highest quality goldsmithing. It features a delicately guilloché circular base, resting on three small, slightly flattened ball-shaped feet. Two elegantly arched, harmoniously designed side handles frame the piece with refinement.
The lid, also guilloché, is topped by a carefully crafted, sculpted flower-shaped grip, held by a fine chain to keep it attached to the body of the bucket. The overall effect is both noble and light, typical of the refined table accessories of the Belle Époque.
This cookie bucket perfectly illustrates the French art of entertaining at the end of the XIXᵉ century: utilitarian objects but executed as genuine ornamental pieces, intended to sublimate the table or living room.
An elegant, decorative and rare piece in this condition, ideal for collectors, table art enthusiasts or showcased in a well-cared-for interior.
