Espaivet: The name of this signature is obtained by phonetizing the initials of the glassworks S.P.V.: Société Parisienne de Verrerie. Between 1890 and 1925, Société Parisienne de Verrerie was located at 112 boulevard d'Italie, now boulevard Auguste Blanqui, in the 13th arrondissement of Paris.
This glassworks initially specialized in medical optical glassware. In 1895, Pierre Curie became the company's technical advisor for optics at this address.
After 1925, Société Parisienne de Verrerie Espaivet diversified its production to include artistic and decorative objects: mainly perfume bottles and articles, as well as vases in the purest Art Deco style, which are still produced in large quantities today.
