This Venetian-style confiturier is made of translucent, colorless glass, blown in a gadrooned mold, resting on a small added heel, the rim is decorated with three fillets, and the knob is spiral-shaped. This compotier or jam maker was produced in the Orléans region during the first half of the 18th century. In a perfect state of preservation, this glassware is both an objet d'art and a moving testimony to the past.
Equivalent examples can be found in museums such as Musée Nationale de la Céramique Sèvres, Musée des Arts Décoratifs de Lyon and Musée du Havre.
