David II Teniers was undoubtedly responsible for the conception of this painting. Since the engraving of this drawing was done in 1743 by Jacques-Philippe le Bas (Paris, 1707 - Paris, 1783), the engraver and publisher who gave the creation to Teniers. Teniers' typical heads can be seen on this work. Teniers' work was well received during his lifetime, influencing and inspiring many generations to come. It is therefore probably the work of a follower. But the finesse of its execution brings us very close to the work of Teniers.
