Engraving representing the symbolic 21st district of Paris realized in aquatint in colors. Entitled "Homage to Rodin", it represents The Kiss of the sculptor, two lovers embracing each other, in black lines on a cloudy night background. It is signed in pencil by Orfeo TAMBURI (1910-1994) and published by Il Cigno between 1979 and 1981 in Rome whose stamp is in the lower right. It is a limited edition of 130 copies.
Orfeo TAMBURI is an Italian painter and engraver known for his portraits of urban life. Influenced by Cézanne, he has a passion for engraving and prints with warm chromatic intonations and broad lines. In the 1960s, he was hired by FORTUNE magazine to do portraits of certain cities in the United States. He moved to Paris in 1971 and illustrated the capital, which changed with the seasons. That same year, he was awarded the gold medal of cultural merit by the Italian president.
