Geneviève Liné-Jagot was born in Amance, in eastern France.
After a classical training at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière, she began her artistic career in 1939 as a fashion designer for "Vogue" magazine, painting in the spirit of the artists of her time: Viera Da Silva, Manessier, Lapique. In Cadaques, Spain, she met Salvador Dali. A turning point in her painting.
After years of oils on canvas and figurative gouaches, she turned to "lyrical abstraction" for the rest of her life.
