This pair of gouaches depicting views of Rome is dated 1842. One is a view of St. Peter's in Rome and the other of the Piazza del Popolo in Rome. They are the work of a certain Di Filippi, and although we have not found any information about him, the quality of execution, worthy of the art of a miniaturist, is unquestionable.
This charming set has retained its original freshness and is framed by a small modern black lacquered rod.
Mid-19th century.
Each view measures 10.5 cm x 13.5 cm, and each frame 26.5 cm x 20.5 cm.
