Original dry pastel artwork (signed and dated 2013 on the back) depicting a little girl in her older sister's arms. This work is inspired by a painting by Emile Friant (1863-1932), "Childhood Sorrow." Emile Friant was a naturalist painter who painted scenes of daily life and portraits; his major work is "All Saints' Day." See the Musée de Nancy, where a major exhibition was dedicated to him. He is one of my favorite painters.

Artist: Isabelle Duval (1957-...) Dimensions: 57 x 47 cm, wooden frame.
