Feodor Petrovitch said Theodore Tchoumakoff born in Saint Petersburg in 1823 died in Paris in 1911, after having been a student at the Saint Petersburg theater from 1834 to 1840 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts where he was taught by PV. Basin.
From 1857 until his death Tchoumakoff lived almost continuously in Paris, painting exclusively portraits of young women in the style of Greuse.
