    Gouache is the name of the painting technique, a picture painted in watercolor with gouache, a French word derived from the Italian "guazzo" or guàdo.

    The gouache palette is made up of a little water thickened with eight colors: ivory black, cobalt blue, natural umber, burnt Sienna, cadmium red, emerald green, Naples yellow or yellow ochre, zinc white.

    Diluted colors, vegetable glues, pigments: a mysterious concoction that every author of this genre keeps secret.

    Seen from a distance, the picture resembles an oil painting.
