A Look at the Work ®
This work is organized around a strong contrast between the painterly gesture and more structured collage elements.
The red, applied in broad strokes, fills the space with intensity. Its irregular contours—splattered and scratched—reflect a spontaneous and energetic gesture. The overflowing ink accentuates this vibrancy and reinforces the color’s presence.
In the center, two glued-on black strips introduce a more rigid structure and contrast sharply with the fluidity of the red. Their sharpness creates a visual anchor in the composition.
The white, which flows between the forms, provides breathing room and balances the whole. The composition, frontal and centered, remains dynamic thanks to the traces and splashes that extend the movement toward the edges.
The work maintains an open dynamic, allowing the eye to wander and prolonging the tension between free gesture and structure.
