The daughter of a Russian actress and a Polish nobleman, Maria Vorobyov studied in Tbilisi and Moscow before moving to Italy. Then she moved to Paris among the Russian community and befriended the painters of Montparnasse (Léger, Chagall, Picasso ...). Vorobieff is madly in love with Diego Rivera, but he goes back to Mexico, leaving him their daughter. The Second World War encouraged her to reach the French Riviera where she set up her workshop.
First woman to adopt the pointillism style to cubism.
Exhibits in Paris, then in London, then in the United States and in Japan; his work received homage at a retrospective organized by the Guggenheim Foundation in New York in 1968.
