Jean Marais (1913-1998)
Actor, director, writer, Jean Marais retired to the Alpes-Maritimes in the 1970s, first to Cabris where he spent around fifteen years (a boulevard in the town near the house he lived in door his name) then to Vallauris where he practiced pottery, sculpture and theater. He opened a store and even an art gallery there thanks to a couple of potter friends.
