This substantial glazed ceramic wall platter features a fully sculpted, high-relief decoration depicting a lion overpowering an ostrich in an exotic landscape of palm trees and lush vegetation.
The highly sculptural treatment of the decoration, combined with polychromy and nuanced glazes, gives this piece a remarkable sense of depth. The back is fitted with two brackets for wall display. This decorative piece, dating from the second half of the 20th century, is of high quality and may be reminiscent of certain French or Italian pieces intended for interior decoration.
