Large platter with a magnificent central painted decoration, depicting a lively landscape of ruins and rocks bordering a sea inlet under a sky of changing colors. The rim is adorned with landscapes of ruins and rocks separated by four medallions that may represent the faces of deities associated with nature: Aeolus, Hades, and Poseidon. The Noleau signature is on the rim of the platter. The underside features a brown faux-wood decoration. The central signature, LM & C, registered in Creil and Montereau, indicates that this platter was created between 1840 and 1876.
Good condition: minor signs of wear.
