Cracked ceramic box with stylized decoration depicting a woman holding a parasol,green decoration of flowers and scrolls on the figure's dress,the parasol's radiance highlighted in green,highlighting the figure's turned face,signed Cazaux under the lower part of the box.France,circa 1925.
Good condition: visible chips on the beige part entering the lower part of the box.
Edouard Cazaux (1889-1974) was a sculptor and ceramist from a family of potters in southwestern France, who set up his workshop in the Paris region at La Varenne-Saint-Hilaire. From 1921 onwards, he took part in numerous exhibitions, including the Salon des Tuileries, the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs, the Salon d'Automne and the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs Industriels et Modernes, and presented his work in renowned galleries such as Galerie Rouard and Le Grand Dépot.
