Beautiful large salad bowl or fruit bowl, likely the base of a soup tureen, made of fine iron-glazed earthenware, produced by the HB CM factory (Hippolyte Boulenger Creil Montereau) Choisy-le-Roi, Elisabeth model, early 20th century, circa 1925–1935. Round shape resting on a small foot, decorated with a frieze of daisies and geometric transfer patterns, hand-highlighted in shades of black, green, and orange. Side handles shaped like lion heads holding a ring, a classic decorative element inspired by 19th-century models, here in a simple and elegant version.
Diameter 23.5 cm, width 30 cm including handles, height 10.5 cm. In very good overall condition with slight signs of use and patina; note a small chip in the enamel on one handle ring as well as a manufacturing defect—enamel flaw—on an outer rim; discreet, light patina on rims and interior. Approximately 1 kg.
