Art Deco Sleeper Earrings, Trembling Earrings, 18k Platinum & Diamonds, Circa 1920

A superb pair of antique Art Deco earrings, crafted in 18k/750 white gold, platinum, and diamonds. Each earring features a series of three identical old-cut diamonds arranged in an articulated arrangement, with a larger, central diamond suspended as a drop at the end. To guarantee the 18k/750 gold content, both earrings bear the French Owl hallmark and two other hallmarks, and all pieces are tested with a touchstone and by machine. Each earring opens and closes with a small lever on the back, which secures the earring and prevents it from falling out. The hinges function perfectly and open and close effortlessly.

Overall in very good condition. Item shows signs of wear. Sold as is. One of the earrings has likely been damaged in the past. One can observe an old restoration, discreetly executed and visible under magnification: the ring that provides the hinge is slightly larger than the others. Upon closer inspection, it turns out to be made of silver. Also, with a magnifying glass, one can see that one side of the earring is slightly less refined than the other. This doesn't detract from the beauty of this pair of marvels.
