For sale is a large, exquisite Victorian star-shaped medallion pendant from the late Historicist period (1875–1880). This magnificent pendant is set with genuine Bohemian pyrope garnets: the stones glow in the coveted dove’s blood red when light hits their facets. The condition of the stones is absolutely flawless, and they are 100% complete. There are no misalignments, no chips, and no contemporary repairs.
The setting and construction are in traditional, historic garnet gold—a tombac alloy.
The piece was crafted using the elaborate closed-back construction method.
Equipped with the sturdy, original hanging loop, it can be worn on a velvet cord or a chain. The star has a diameter of 5 cm, measured without the loop.
