A magnificent cocktail ring from the Victorian era. Crafted entirely of 375 gold. The ring is hallmarked with at least two hallmarks. One bears the 375 gold hallmark, the other an anchor.
Anchor hallmark: An original piece of jewelry from the heyday of the Empire. Most likely crafted between 1860 and 1900. The anchor hallmark certifies authenticity and the location of the assay, namely the Birmingham Assay Office—the very heart of the Jewellery Quarter, i.e., the center of British jewelry manufacturing in the 19th century. The other hallmarks are faded. The ring has a total weight of 5.28 grams.
The star emblem—the North Star or guiding star—in the center, directly on the surface of the cabochon, signifies, among other things: “You are my guiding star in life; I will always follow you.”
In very good and well-maintained condition.
