This charming gold ring is adorned with a row of five turquoise stones resting on a stepped base bordered by a twisted border and a frieze of pearls. On either side, at the shoulder, is a small, finely chased acanthus leaf. Dating from the mid-19th century, this piece bears the hallmark of an eagle's head, in use since 1838, and the maker's mark, a lozenge shape featuring the letters A and L separated by a sea lion. This is the mark of Adolphe Auguste Louis, of La Bijouterie, 12 rue du Vieux Marché in Paris, who became a master jeweler on January 5, 1852.
Ring size between 56 and 57.
    Gross weight 2.34 grams.
