Rare pair of large, beautifully crafted candelabra in gilded and patinated bronze from the so-called "Return from Egypt" period.
On a triangular base in gilded bronze with cut corners, three claw feet with acanthus leaves give rise to a triconical pyramid serving as a pedestal.
A wreath of ivy leaves held by a ribbon is applied to each of the sides. At the top of the pedestal, on a small triangular base, a gilt bronze sphere hosts a canephorus caryatid in bronze with a brown patina. This one holds in her raised arms, a cup forming a long Etruscan vase decorated with flowers at its top.
Three arms of light formed by winged lions whose tails wind to end in a vine leaf.
Beautiful state of conservation with some restorations at the time of electrification.
Beautiful original gilding, uncleaned.
Added cups as well as the very small flower on the base.
Very nice model, from the first third of the 19th century.
Height: 63.5cm
