Beautiful pair of large regule candlesticks featuring two child musicians.
A little girl playing the mandolin and a boy playing the transverse flute.
The sculpture of each character is precise and rich in detail.
The little girl is draped in a long dress with three-quarter sleeves and a square neckline, and wears a headdress tied on her head.
The boy wears pants tucked into his boots and a sort of ruffled, long-sleeved surplice. On his head, a turban lets out fine curly locks.
This detail demonstrates the fine craftsmanship of these statuettes. Note the well-defined fingers, the buckle on the boy's boots and the graceful folds of the girl's dress.
The seat of each figure rests on a Greek column supported by a foot decorated with flowers and composed of three leaves from which rise three volutes.
The two musicians are leaning against a trunk entwined with foliage up to the top of the candlestick, which consists of a soberly decorated wick.
These two 33 cm high candlesticks are in very good condition, with a brown patina showing little wear, and two bronze decorations at the base and top of the column bearing the children.
This is a pure Art Nouveau product that will add a touch of fantasy to your interior.
