    Pair of Saint-Clément glazed ceramic candlesticks

    France, 1960s-1970s

    Original pair of glazed brown ceramic candlesticks, made by the Saint-Clément factory.

    Each candlestick is stylized as a woman with raised arms holding two candle holders, inspired by folk art and Scandinavian and modernist decorative designs of the second half of the 20th century.

    The molded decoration highlights the details of the costume, the chevron pattern of the dress, and the facial features, enhanced by a beautiful caramel brown glaze with darker undertones.

    Their graphic silhouette and sculptural presence make them particularly sought-after decorative objects.
