Pair of silvered bronze candlesticks with putti decoration. Napoleon III period, circa 1860-1880.
A lovely pair of silvered bronze candlesticks, set on elegantly curved bases.
The stems are decorated with small putti in relief, surrounded by foliage, shells, and plant motifs. The workmanship is meticulous and quite elaborate, giving the pieces a truly decorative appearance.
The candle holders also feature stylized shell motifs, while the bases are adorned with water leaves and scrolling foliage. The quality of the casting, the fineness of the details, and the well-balanced proportions are noteworthy.
