Pair of "à boule" quiver candlesticks, decorated with round feet, water leaves and gadroons, balls, smooth shafts, collars and bobèches with palmettes. Chased and gilded bronze, Empire period, early 19th century, circa 1810.

Our pair of candlesticks is the model created by Ravrio around 1808 and supplied in several examples to the Mobilier Impérial for the Château de Fontainebleau around 1810 (salon of apartment n°4 cour des princes, rooms of apartments 3 and 4 of the same courtyard, salon of the 4th apartment of the Ministers' wing - see Jean Pierre Samoyault, Pendules et bronzes d'ameublement entres sous le premier Empire [au Chateau de Fontainebleau]: the model is listed at number 184).

André Antoine Ravrio (1759-1814), along with Thomire and Claude Galle, was one of the most important bronzemakers of the Empire, and supplier to Emperor Napoleon I.

Very elegant model, composed of 9 independent pieces (the more, the higher the quality), gilded with fine gold. Beautiful, sober, finely chiseled decoration, ideal for completing an Empire collection with a model of "Mobilier Impérial" quality.

They are in good condition, no missing parts, no deformations, original gilding worn, a little missing under the base of one of the two torches.
