    Gilt bronze Empire-style six-light chandelier, XXᵉ century, Circa 1920

    Elegant six-light chandelier realized in the taste of the Empire style, resting on an Empire green circular mount, girdled by an applied frieze of ormolu laurel leaves. The central crown, inspired by Antiquity, is finely molded, highlighting the mastery of neoclassical decoration.

    The six light arms, in gilded bronze with a matt golden patina, are ribbed to evoke stylized bamboo canes, and are attached to the central crown by chased rings decorated with water leaves. Each arm supports a bobèche adorned with a faux wax drop, topped by a flame bulb, evoking traditional candles.

    The lower part is punctuated by a decorative base in the shape of a pine cone, a recurring motif in Empire-style productions, symbolizing regeneration. The whole is suspended by three gilded metal chains linked to an upper circular pavilion.
