An imposing, openwork, ovoid lamp base in glazed ceramic, in shades of beige, brown, and smooth, satin-finish flamed brown, imitating the appearance of rock or volcanic textures (Fat Lava), topped with an eggshell-colored glaze.

In the style of the French ceramist Georges Pelletier or the Italian-Canadian ceramist Raphaël Giarrusso, both of whom collaborated in the 1950s.
This type of lamp was very characteristic of the Mid-Century style productions (1950s-1960s) of the Accolay Pottery in Burgundy. At the Accolay Pottery, which he joined in the mid-1950s while still a student, Georges Pelletier primarily created and signed lighting fixtures (table lamps and large floor lamps) as well as articulated figures and sculptures. It was within this community that he developed his signature style. However, this lamp could more likely be dated to the 1960s–1970s, a period when Georges Pelletier began collaborating with Roche Bobois. During these years of commercial collaboration, the artist generally did not sign his pieces, which sometimes makes identifying his 1960s lamps complex.

However, we cannot guarantee its attribution.
