Large ormolu and crystal lantern. It opens through a small door with a gilt bronze key knob giving access to five arms of light. Its five sides are glazed with double-curved curved glass and topped with a small Rocaille-patterned pediment. Each upright is fitted with three crystal plates and rosettes at the top and three crystal plates and rosettes at the base. The inner rod supporting the five light arms is attached to the lantern by a hook. It is removable. Attractive gilded bronze clasp decoration on the base. Minor gilding wear in places. Electrification recently redone.
