Round barrel, rifled bore, marked on top: Colt’s Pt. F.A. Mfg. Co., Hartford, Ct., U.S.A. Patented Aug. 5, 1884, Nov. 6, 1888, Mar. 5, 1895. and on the left side: COLT. D.A.38. Half-moon front sight.
Tilting cylinder with collective extractor, with six chambers, marked R.A.C.
Single- and double-action operation.
Closed frame, marked R.A.C. and L.E.B. On the stock frame, the markings are as follows: U.S. ARMY 1896 No. 150984
