    Steel, wood, brass
    Total length: 29.5 cm; Barrel length: 17 cm
    Cal.: 15.2 mm

    Side-mounted barrel, then round.
    Breech tang marked "Mle 1837".
    Iron ramrod with nail head, mounted on a curved, tilting stirrup.
    Lock signed "Mre Rle de Châtellerault".
    Round-body hammer, offset hammer, and checkered crest.
    Percussion system.
    Walnut stock with short fore-end.
    Brass fittings, all hallmarked.
    Iron belt strap.
    Brass cap stamped with a naval anchor.
    Ring ring on rotating eyebolt.
