Steel, brass and wood
Length: 35.5cm. Barrel length: 20cm. Cal.: 17mm
Twisted steel barrel, with short thunderbolt sides, with markings on the inside. Hallmark on upper side; markings and numbering on underside.
ANXIII model lock, converted to percussion, marked St Etienne Mfre Royale, and hallmarked with a fleur-de-lys. Brass bail.
Brass fittings, with trigger guard ending in a fleuron and two-band mouthpiece. They are stamped M and C circled.
Nailhead iron ramrod.
Walnut frame, with half-length barrel, forming a smooth handle that flares out at the bottom, the left side is stamped with five circles, and a punch at the rear of the breech tail.
Ellipsoidal brass cap, decorated with three fleur-de-lis.
Manufacture de Saint-Etienne produced only 300 examples of this model.
The barrel has been polished and rebleued in its time; the stock has an antique finish.
