The Model 1833 was the standard-issue pistol for officers until the outbreak of war against Prussia in 1870.

The lock plate shows signs of oxidation, but the markings of the Royal Manufacture of Châtellerault remain legible.

The rifled barrel reveals a beautiful brown Damascus pattern.

The mechanism is functional, and the ramrod is original.
