Corsican stiletto with scabbard. Etched blade.
France, circa 1880
Steel, nickel silver, leather, wood.
Total length: 25.5 cm; Stiletto length: 24 cm – Blade length: 13.5 cm
Double-edged blade with a central flat and a 0.3 cm thick ricasso; acid-etched and inscribed "DEL TUO NOMICO" on one side and "VAI AL CUORE" on the other; stepped nut.
Hilt with ferrules and bolster in cut nickel silver. Olive wood knuckle, with sides, line-engraved and decorated with five iron rings.
Leather-covered wooden scabbard; chape and snap in cut nickel silver.
Good condition.
