Corsican stiletto with scabbard. Etched blade.
France, early 20th century
Steel, nickel silver, wood.
Total length: 23 cm; Stiletto length: 22.5 cm – Blade length: 13.5 cm
Double-edged blade with a central flat; acid-etched and inscribed "VENDETTA CORSA" on one side and "VAI AL CUORE DEL NEMICO" on the other; stepped nut.
Hilt with ferrules and a cut nickel silver bolster. Olive wood knuckle, with sides, etched with a line. The bolster bears a repoussé Moor's head.
Leather-covered wooden scabbard; chape with bail ring and cut nickel silver snap ring.
Good condition.
