    PIA KAETA knife
    Ceylon, 18th century
    Steel, marine ivory, brass, silver
    Total length: 31.5 - Blade length: 20 - Blade thickness at heel: 0.9cm

    Single-edged, curved steel blade with brass-encrusted gutters engraved with a frieze; on each side, an engraved cartouche is adorned with a brass frieze and a silver coin with repoussé decoration.
    The heel is reinforced by a strong frieze-shaped copper grip with silver filigree decoration.
    The marine ivory handle is finely carved with vegetal motifs at several levels and punctuated with rivets. Silver bolster with repoussé decoration.
    Rivure knob with brass bead.
