SAPEURS-POMPIERS OFFICER'S Sword, chased model type 1831, Monarchie de Juillet.

Gilt bronze mounting. Single-branch hilt decorated with fleurons and Jupiter spindle. Keyboard molded in relief of a fireman's helmet resting on two crossed axes, the whole on a branch of oak and a branch of laurel. Moulded Jupiter spindle knob. Copper filigree horn spindle. Ferrules with floral decoration. Blade with chased gutters. Leather scabbard with two brass fittings. Length 103 cm.
France, 19th century. July Monarchy. In used condition, blade with traces of oxidation. Not very common.
