France, end of the 18th century
Silver and steel
Long. : 104; Long. blade: 88 cm
The fusee, the pommel, the one-branched hilt and the silver shell are finely decorated with a suite decoration composed of strings of pearl stripes and friezes of diamond-point cabochons, punctuated with medallions of flower bouquets and flowers.
Marked "R5" on the heel of the steel blade with a central groove of which it retains traces of engravings of which it is possible to read in capital letters "Maria Benedicte" and "Portugal".
