We present this exceptional collector's item: a dragon cuirass from Napoleon Bonaparte's imperial army. This magnificent suit of armor, rich in authentic markings, was made by the Manufacture Impériale de Châtellerault.

A cuirassier was a heavily equipped and armed military horseman, protected by a cuirass, from which they derived their name. The first mention of the term cuirassier dates back to 1484, in reference to an Austrian unit of around 100 men serving under Emperor Maximilian I. Cuirassiers made their first appearance in France in 1665, becoming a major force in the French army.

This cuirass was discovered in the Bonnefontaine Abbey in the Ardennes, France. Its rich history and impeccable craftsmanship make it a coveted item for collectors and history buffs alike. Owning such an artifact offers a tangible connection to the grandeur and strategic genius of Napoleon's military campaigns.

The Imperial Manufactory of Châtellerault, founded during Napoleon's reign, was renowned for the quality of its arms and armor. It played a crucial role in equipping the imperial troops, producing pieces that combined robustness with aesthetic appeal.
