Swiss-made fire department (Feuerwehr) officer's kepi, dating from the mid-20th century (1940s, during World War II, 1939–1945).
This high-end cap belonged to a captain, as evidenced by its three fine gold braids and its madder-red piping.
Features and condition:

Good condition: The dark blue/black fabric is sound, with no moth holes. The black leather visor and the faux chin strap with its metal buckle are perfectly intact.
