Large overmantel mirror on a cream-colored painted wood base, featuring a mercury mirror and a painting on canvas mounted on wood.
The upper part of the painting is surrounded by a gilded wood molding, carved with acanthus leaves, scrolls and topped with a shell.
The work depicts a romantic, bucolic scene: a woman, seated with a bouquet in her hand, listens to a young man playing the flute at her feet. A small dog and a goat complete the scene.
At the bottom, a mirror is encircled by a gilded wood frame carved with acanthus leaves and topped with a Louis XV shell.
On either side, molded moldings are accompanied by decorative falls. Finally, this trumeau mirror is topped by a beautiful molded cornice.
Graceful and harmonious, it will delight lovers of refined works of art.
