This work has the softness, delicacy, and velvety texture of a pastel.
His first exhibition took place in 1948 at Galerie Pierre Loeb. Initially devoted exclusively to figures and landscapes at the beginning of his career under the influence of Nicolas de Stael, he became involved in abstraction in the 1970s. Taking advantage of this, he returned in the early 1980s to a figurative expression, relying on drawing, which is still very present. Our work is a typical example.
Gustav Bolin is a wonderful artist who enriched the post-war Paris school.
