Description

This description has been translated and may not be completely accurate. Click here to see the original

Oil on canvas and collage, 100x100 cm. Mediterranean landscape, likely the Promenade des Anglais in Nice.
A vibrant, baroque work by this great colorist, son of the Basque painter Paul Aizpiri.
It comes from the collection of the painter Marcestel, who organized exhibitions of artists from the School of Paris in Japan. This painting is unsigned (artists often signed their works only at the time of sale).
It is therefore being sold as “attributed to Gilles Gorriti.” The buyer may, if desired, obtain a certificate from the rights holders, as this painting has a good provenance.
