Beautiful 19th century gilded wood frame

Student of Clérian and Granet, Joseph Villevieille is a painter from Aix. He also knows several of his Aix colleagues including Cézanne who is one of his friends. An academic painter in his historical subjects, Villevieille becomes more impressionistic in his landscapes of Provence. Always with a very beautiful light and bright colors which give all the charm to his paintings.
