Marcel Basler (1917-1990) was a French painter. Until the late 1960s, Marcel Basler's work was essentially figurative, expressed in gouaches as well as watercolors and oil paintings. From the 1970s onwards, turning away from the field that had been his until then and had opened many doors for him, he turned exclusively to abstract art, and tormented works mark out this last period of his life.
