From Swiss parents, he lived all his life in Lyon, apart from his many travels. He meets Emile Noirot who becomes his faithful companion, traveling with him across France to paint landscapes from nature. he frequents all the artists of the Lyon region, in particular: Guiguet, Drevet, Broullard, and also works with Henri Grosjean. Then he became the pupil of Pierre Montézin, with whom he traveled in France and abroad, painting at his side up to two, three, sometimes four canvases per day.
A tireless traveler, he crisscrosses the country, from Normandy to Corsica, and makes many trips to Switzerland, Italy, Germany, England, Scotland, always in search of new horizons.
He exhibited regularly at the Salon du Printemps of the Société Lyonnaise des Beaux-Arts, where he obtained a first prize in 1930 and was out of competition. He also made numerous personal exhibitions in Lyon and in the region, in Provence, as well as in Geneva, Lausanne and Friborg.
