This charming 18th century painting representing Nymphs bathing in an undergrowth is of remarkable quality "Cabinet Turquin", Contemporary work
during the reign of Louis XVI, is painted on a wooden panel reinforced with a large canvas at the back. According to the Expert, it is a painting by a follower of Jacques Antoine Vallin. In a steep river, under the shade of lush greenery, a Nymph comes out of the bath with her hair held in place by a garland of antique flowers, awaited by a Companion with a towel... The delicate touch, the glaze, the subject chosen throughout this Work gives it the place it deserves. Presented in a beautiful gilded wooden frame with a red velvet margin (later 19th century) which enhances this beautiful and refreshing painting.
