    French school of the 18th century, portrait of a Court aristocrat, or a princess of the blood since the latter wears a diamond fleur-de-lys brooch in her hair. She is dressed in the fashion of the years 1700-1710, the end of the reign of Louis XIV. Oil on canvas in rectangular format, in an oval frame in carved oak and gilded with gold leaf, Louis XIV period.

    Beautiful portrait of a historical character of very good quality. The painting is not signed but the work of a good painter, not identified at this stage of our research. The painting is a large format, larger than a classic oval portrait of this period. The frame is superb - matte and shiny gilding.

    Excellent condition overall, painting and frame cleaned.
