Jean Pierre du Teil de Beaumont, also spelled Jean Pierre Duteil de Beaumont seigneur de Pommier, Chars, les Rousselières, Vaux and other places, born July 15, 1722 at Château de Pommier in Pommier-de-Beaurepaire (Isère), died February 22, 1794 in Lyon (Rhône), was a major general of the French Revolution.
He was one of Napoleon Bonaparte's most influential protectors at the École royale d'artillerie in Auxonne, who did not forget him when he drew up his will. In his will, Napoleon Bonaparte bequeathed Du Teil's son or grandson the sum of 100,000 francs "as a memento of his gratitude for the care this brave general had taken of him".
