Nice portrait of a little girl by Joseph BAIL
Oil on canvas
Joseph Bail (1862-1921),
comes from a painter's family, than he. It is placed in the realistic tradition of genre subjects with a Dutch tendency.
His brother and father are just as famous as he is. However, he became the youngest medalist of honor in 1886.
In 1900, he received the gold medal at the Exposition Universelle for three of his paintings.
His works are in the Dutch and Flemish taste, but also of Chardin. He knows how to make the shine of copper, play with the light of a ray of the sun and likes to represent cooks in the kitchen and maids.
Joseph Bail likes to use a color palette varying from brown to orange. He will also do portraits, very simple, but showing a beautiful technique, like our little girl.
